No crowns, or orbs of gold
As playthings, only the promise
Of a hug and a kiss, precious to
Those who had been lost.
In brambles and bushes, set aside as waste,
They survived by an unknown grace
To live out one more day.
The kindness of strangers takes on a true,
Bell-like sound as they clap their hands
In Welcome.
The Trinity comes in human form
Another day’s table will be set
Another night’s crib will be fresh
With sheets of care.
Tomorrow, citizens of a new world,
Today, bundles of delicious, warm, infant-kind
Waiting to smile, to giggle, to coo,
Trusting, for now,
The Almighty, and Good Souls
Will provide.

A Trinity Woman proffered, caressing
When the symbols of your life
People who like to dress up
In my palm I hallucinate a diamond
Misbegotten moon
One perfect cherry remains
If only the storms stayed outside,
“It’s always my fault.
Hers was widely-known.
